My Favorite Time of Year

This was the kids at the church the other day.  After Santa Claus landed, they had crafts.  The kids made us wonderful little Christmas cards, that are now on my tree!!  I am really enjoying the Holiday Season this year.  The kids are at the great ages to be sooo excited about it!!  And that makes me excited.  I cannot wait to wake up Christmas morning and spend time with the kids and my family!

I am all about new beginnings right now, and with the new year coming up I think something is going to change about this blog.  I am not sure what at this moment, but I'm sick of the same old stuff.  I don't know if I will change the appearance of this one, or try to get a completely new blog. (*EDIT:  I am positive I will be changing from Blogger to something else, so I will be working on starting and getting another one ready, and update it here when I'm ready!)  I am just ready for change.  So, in keeping with all the change in my life, I want this to change to.  It's been fun keeping up this blog, but it's time for something new and exciting!!  You know me, I can't leave anything the same way too long:)  Hope your Holiday Season is going as great as mine!!  Love, Jess

Santa flies in a Helicopter???

We finally got to go see Santa, and what a trip it was!!  He flew in on a helicopter!  The kids (and adults too) were so excited to see him flying in.  Lucas told Santa he wanted a choo choo train, and Isabelle I think said TOYS!  The church had a nice breakfast, saw Santa fly in on a helicopter and had crafts, so the kids could make us a Christmas Card.  It was such a fun morning.  There are a few other pics like Izzy's bday cake, us finally getting our tree and getting it up, etc.  Things are sooo busy, and now we have to go get ready for a surprise bday party for Anthony's brother!  So See ya soon.

 

These are some pics I got of Lucas and Isabelle over at Nana and Pappaws one day.  These are not all of them, but I loved how they turned out.  The one of Isabelle just captures her perfectly!  So mischievous looking.  I am so ready for Christmas to be here.  Looking for 2010 to be a more organized, focused year for me.  Hoping that is the case anyway.  I've just been a little all over the place near the end of this year.  Things have definitely gotten me a little off my usual game.  And that's life.  And it is okay.  I have faith that next year will be better for me and for my family. 


I don't want to ramble on and on about that though.  Maya Road is doing an awesome giveaway on Facebook.  Go check it!!!  They are giving away seven new different colors of mist!  WOW...I would love that.  So anyway, I have got to go work on some more Christmas stuff.  Hope everyone is having a great day....mine is all rain.  WHY CAN'T IT SNOW HERE???  Love to all, Jess

Happy Birthday Dear Isabelle!!

Today, my dear sweet Isabelle is two!!  I cannot believe it.  Just like I can't believe Lucas is four.  We just made brownies today and let her open some new clothes, b/c her Birthday party isn't going to be until Thursday!!!  And I am about pooped today.  She did get a very nice package in the mail from Auntie Ta-Ta, with a cute little Pinky Pie pony....that crawls!!!  She was so excited for it.  And tomorrow, when I have more time and am here all day I will post pics of that!  As you can tell, December is not my best blogging month.  Things are so crazy hectic around here near the end of the year.   There are birthdays, Christmas, get togethers, etc, etc...so I am not in full blogging mode in December!  But  I will post when I get a chance.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and enjoying the Holiday Spirit!  More tomorrow....Love, Jess

Scrap That Poetry

Today the new challenge is up at Scrap That Poetry. The poem is "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. This is my take on it. Even though the kids are still young, I often think about which path they will choose, what road they will go down in their lives. And I try to remember that no matter which way they may go to support them and give them all the encouragement I can. That's it for today, cuz I'm just give out. Love, Jess

HAPPY BDAY TO ME!!!

Tomorrow is my birthday, but when I went out to the mailbox I found a package with this inside.....FROM MO!!!! So, of course I wait until tomorrow to open it, right?......NO, NOT AT ALL!!! What am I, an adult?There was the most beautiful card...isn't she so talented? I can never make the vellum paper look good, but this is beautiful! Mo and Tonia can always make vellum look soooo good.
AND......ONE OF MO'S CREATIONS....A BEAUTIFUL BRACELET!!! That I am now listening to the jingle and jangle of since I'm typing with it on:):) I absolutely love it. The pics online really don't do these bracelets justice! They are so detailed and beautiful.
Another view...and it has my fave colors....greens and blues in it!!! Not to mention it's got this really earthy feel to it.. I cannot tell you how much I love this bracelet!
I just wanted to say Thanks, Mo!! I love it sooo much! That really made my weekend! Now I'm ready for my chocolate pies for my birthday...Yes, I'm sick of birthday cake and I will be making one Saturday for Izzy's bday anyway, so I asked my mama if she would make me some chocolate pies....THEY ARE SO DELICIOUS!!!

Here is a 6x12 layout I completed for the November sketch challenge over at ScrapFreak! It's my first time actually participating in a challenge over there and they are so nice over there, I think I'll stick around!! Here is my take on the sketch....And, I just noticed this, but the owl and branch on my layout came from Mo a while back!!! I have been keeping it b/c it was sooo cute, but finally decided it was too cute to just be sitting there in my stash, so I wanted to put in on the page, which worked out well with their sketch!!! I love owls. Such a simple, quick page. I've really got to start doing more 6x12 layouts!! They are so much fun and like i said, so simple and quick:) Gotta run for now. I'm working on some handmade gifts for my mom. I've run into a problem...I am making her a little snowman felt pillow for decoration, b/c she adores snowmen, but I've got it stuffed and now can't figure out how to do a hidden stitch to close it up!!! The things I get myself into. I'm also making her some more fabric ornaments so she can take the ones I made her last year and this year and make a Christmas Garland out of them...that's what she said she wanted to do with them. I wanted to make her a pincushion too, b/c she really wants one, but I think I'm gonna run out of time for learning that too!!! Too much on my plate right now:) But I am not complaining because I love making handmade gifts. Now, I just have to figure out what I want to make Tonia. I'm such a rambler today, so I'll go and get to work!! Love to all on this beautiful Sunday!

Oh, P.S. I changed my blog back to two columns. I think I can keep it much neater looking with only two columns....it starts looking too crowded for my liking when I put too much stuff around my posts! Hope it is easier for you to read, as well!

Let It Snow...Sketchy Thursdays

I really hope we get a good snow this year, but I'm not counting on it! So I made this card for Diana and Heidi over at Sketchy Thursdays! They have a second chance challenge going on right now and you have to submit it before Dec 2, 2009. Here is my take on it...I love snow and love Christmas! I just wish we would have a white Christmas!!
